There are several different measures that you can take, if you have a problem with underarm sweating. Oftentimes this problem is exacerbated by feelings of insecurity, stress or anxiety. For example, some people rarely sweat much at home, but as soon as they are out either at work, or attending a social occasion, they begin to sweat excessively. Becoming more self-confident and sure of yourself will help in the long-term to curb excessive sweating, as you will not feel as anxious or stressed when meeting people.

However, building self-esteem and self-confidence can sometimes take time. Thus, in the meantime, there are other things you can do to help with this problem. First of all, you should try to wear a good antiperspirant. You may need to purchase a strong antiperspirant, not the regular kind. The ingredient aluminum chloride blocks the ducts, so it is recommended that you apply once in the morning, and then again at night before you go to bed. Regular use of this for several months can sometimes bring excessive sweating under control.

Another longer term solution is to have Botox injections. These injections last anywhere from two to four months. Of course, once the effect wears off you will need to have more injections, but it can be a helpful cure, especially if antiperspirant treatment does not work. You would need to consult with a medical practitioner to find out what solution is best in your case.
