Prevent Sweating
admin, September 2nd, 2010 You can prevent sweating without having to spend a whole lot of money on medical treatments. If you suffer from this condition it means you have what is known as hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is a condition that you cannot hide, since those wet stains on your shirt is a dead giveaway.
People with hyperhidrosis live in constant fear of social embarrassment, which is not unfounded. Excessive sweating can ruin even the most stylish look and clothes, and make others conscious of all the sweat dripping down the person’s head, face and hands. Treatments to prevent sweating can be quite expensive, like botox injections or surgery.
There are cheaper alternatives like using antiperspirants, but these do not solve the problem; they can only help camouflage it to some extent. So how does one go about dealing with this embarrassing problem of excessive sweating?
There are two basic things that you need to look at if you are suffering from this problem. One, your diet and two, the kind of clothes you wear most of the time. You may not be aware of it but all those endless cups of coffee you drink throughout the day could be making you sweat too much. Similarly, if you are mostly eating food that is heavy on spices, it could be the reason behind your excessive sweating problem.
Your wardrobe plays a huge part in how much you sweat! If you are having a problem with too much sweating then it could be because of all those thick fabrics and tight fitting clothes you are constantly wearing. If your clothes are not made of natural fibers like cotton and silk, your skin suffers, since it is unable to breathe, and hence all the heavy sweating. Showering a couple of times a day too can help cope with the problem of excessive sweating.
When all these methods have been tried yet no tangible improvement is seen, a person with the problem of excessive sweating usually turns to the most invasive method of all — surgery. Though a surgical procedure done to prevent sweating is painless and quick, often people complain that their underarm sweating problem may have been cured, but the sweating itself did not go altogether. In fact, most people dread the thought of surgery only because of this particular side effect, known as compensatory sweating, and hence prefer looking for other ways to prevent sweating.
